IV therapy in Pleasanton
In short
Fluids and nutrients given intravenously, so they reach the bloodstream without passing through the gut. A session takes about an hour with a nurse.
People use it for hydration, for recovery, and around travel or a demanding stretch of work. It is worth saying plainly that the evidence for most cosmetic and wellness claims made about IV vitamins is limited.
What it can and cannot do
Intravenous fluid rehydrates faster than drinking does, and that part is straightforward. Nutrient content is absorbed without the limits the digestive system imposes.
Beyond that, claims about immunity, energy and skin are mostly not supported by strong evidence, and anyone with a normal diet and normal kidneys will excrete a good deal of what is infused.
What to expect
A short health check, a cannula, then an hour in a chair. You can work or read through it.
Bruising at the site is the usual minor complaint. Anything beyond that is uncommon and managed in the room.
When we would choose something else
Persistent fatigue deserves a proper diagnostic workup with your physician rather than an infusion.
Kidney disease, heart failure and certain medications make fluid loading unsafe, so we screen for those before treating.
Common questions
Does IV vitamin therapy actually work?
For rehydration, yes, and faster than drinking. For the broader immunity and energy claims, the evidence is limited.
How long does a session take?
About an hour, including a short health check beforehand. You remain seated and can work through it.
Who should not have IV therapy?
Anyone with kidney disease or heart failure, and anyone on medications affected by fluid loading. We screen for these before treating.
